Renovating your home without losing track of the budget

A renovation means ten trades, fifteen quotes, staggered deposits and a budget that drifts without anyone knowing exactly where. Blueprint Maker generates the application that holds YOUR work items, YOUR quotes and YOUR payments, for a personal project, not for a construction firm.

Generate this application

The description is already written: free sign-up, then it's waiting for you in the composer.

The spreadsheet stops telling you where the money goes

At the start, a spreadsheet is enough: three lines, two quotes. Then the electrician reschedules, the plumber adds a variation, the kitchen runs €2,000 over, a deposit is paid without being logged. Three months later, the simple question, “how much have I committed, and how much is left?”, no longer has a reliable answer.

Market tools are built for professionals who invoice clients: they talk sites, labour, margin. Someone renovating their own home needs neither invoicing nor crew management: they need to know what they signed, what they paid, and what is still to come out.

Your work items, your quotes, your application

Describe your project: “I'm renovating a house. I want to track my work items (electrics, plumbing, insulation, kitchen, painting), the tradespeople and their quotes, the deposits and balances paid, the work dates, and see the planned budget against what I've actually committed.”

The generated application links items, tradespeople, quotes and payments: each item carries its planned budget and committed amount, each quote its status, each payment its date. The dashboard finally answers the two real questions: where the budget stands, and who's coming next week.

  • Work items: planned budget, committed amount, progress
  • Tradespeople: contacts, items involved
  • Quotes: amount, status (received, accepted, declined)
  • Payments: deposit, balance, date
  • Work schedule by date
  • Dashboard: total budget, left to pay, next visit

The budget per item, not just the total

A renovation budget doesn't blow up all at once: it blows up item by item. By attaching each quote and each payment to an item, the gap shows where it happens, while it can still be corrected, instead of surfacing at the end as a total nobody can explain.

The application arrives with realistic demo data (items, tradespeople, quotes at different statuses, staggered payments) to judge it right away, and three generation levels (Sketch, Craft, Masterpiece) to raise the polish.

Readable by two, and it stays yours

It's a web application at its own address: you and the people you share the link with (partner, architect, a relative following the project) see the same up-to-date data, from a phone on site or a computer in the evening. No more spreadsheet versions contradicting each other.

The free Discovery plan generates a first complete application, often enough for one project. Since the code is exportable, the application is yours: keep it as the house's history, reuse its structure for the next phase of work, or archive it.

Frequently asked questions: renovation tracking

How is this different from professional construction-site software?

Professional software manages clients, crews, labour and invoicing. This is a personal project: what you track are your work items, your quotes and your payments. The generated application contains only what you describe, without the unnecessary layers.

Can I compare the planned budget with what I've actually committed?

Yes: describe a planned budget for each item, and attach the accepted quotes and payments to it. The gap is computed item by item and surfaces on the dashboard.

Can I store quote PDFs and site photos in it?

The application tracks the information you describe: amounts, dates, statuses, notes. For the attachments themselves, keep your usual folder. Since the code is exportable (ZIP, GitHub), a developer can add file storage if the need is confirmed.

Can I track deposits paid and the balance left per tradesperson?

Yes if your description provides for it: each payment carries an amount, a date and a tradesperson, which shows what has been paid and what is still owed, per tradesperson as well as per item.

Do I need technical skills?

No. You describe your project in plain language, you validate a plan, and the application is generated without writing code. It arrives with demo data so you can get to grips with it immediately.
